Many of you have heard of (or benefited from!) the cranial adjustment that we offer at Advanced Health of Naperville, but how does it work? Dr. Cathy has been seeing newborns, kids and adults using this special technique for over 4 years and has trained Dr. Christine in this as well!

How does it work?
As complicated as the human body and nervous system are, the explanation of our cranial adjustment is relatively easy to explain. Many babies are born with a rotation of the sphenoid bone (a butterfly shaped bone that goes through the center of the head). This bone sits under the brain and the 12 cranial nerves that exit the brain all go through little openings in or around this bone. When the bone is rotated, it puts pressure on these nerves and if the pressure is great enough, the nerve doesn’t work the way it is supposed to. The cranial adjustment (done inside the mouth on the upper palate because that is the very best way to get to the sphenoid) helps to balance the bone out, takes pressure off of the nerves and allows them to do what they were meant to do.

This adjustment helps:
• Babies with nursing/feeding issues, colic, sleep, torticollis, constipation, sinus/ear issues, reflux and more!

• Children with feeding/swallowing issues, sleep, ear infections, chronic sinus congestion, speech, growing pains, headaches, asthma and more!

• Adults with headache/migraine, vertigo/dizziness, swallowing, TMJ, sinus/ear pressure and infections, sleep and more!

We are always happy to answer any questions you have about our cranial adjustments and other services we offer at Advanced Health of Naperville at 630-355-8988 or by email.
